The Whizzer, also known as Robert Frank, is a superhero appearing in Marvel Comics. He first appeared in USA Comics #1 (August 1941), published by Timely Comics, which later became Marvel Comics.
Robert Frank gained his super speed abilities after receiving a blood transfusion from a mongoose that had been injected with an experimental serum. This serum was intended to protect the mongoose from snake venom but unintentionally granted Robert the power of super-speed.
Originally depicted as a comedic character, the Whizzer was later re-established as a more serious hero and a member of various superhero teams, including the All-Winners Squad.
